What a blog is for.

I'm well aware that blogs often tend to be quite self-centred, and they can help you to think that you're the most important thing in the world and that all people are interested in is finding out about you and your amazingly interesting life.

I'm sure that I have been guilty of that mindset in a lot of the blogging I've done in the past.

So this is why I've called this blog "the 'real' one. when I've done blogs in the past they have just been "today i went here, did this, thought this..." I want to state here, at the beginning, that it's not for me to tell you everything about my life and what I've been up to lately. It's more to share maybe things that I've learnt lately, stuff that's challenged or encouraged me both generally and in my Christian walk.

Also I'm thinking of this blog with regards to next year when hopefully I will be working abroad for the year as part of my degree. Then I hope that I'll be able to use this to keep you up to date with what's going on there. To inform your prayers hopefully and let you know I'm still alive! And I hope I'll be able to keep the focus on what I am learning and what God is teaching me and encouraging me with, instead of just prattling on about myself.

And just to clarify... I know I write like an idiot on these things. It's because it's a blog. It's what I do!
