The Beauty of Books

I absolutely love books. I love reading them, but I love to just have them on my shelf. I've always said that books make a house look like a home, and I just think that there's something really special about them, and old books especially are just so so beautiful! I hope you agree because I often feel, when I have a lovely book in my hands, that I want to show it to, and share it with other people. Which is what I'm going to do now...

(While I was at home last weekend I hung out a bit in my Dad's office at church. It's one of my favourite things to do when I'm at home, and as I get older I appreciate more and more all the incredible books he has! And today I went on a little day trip down to Warrington to a second hand Christian bookshop run by Book Aid which was just lovely, and invested in a few items!)

Dad's Church Office
Collection of Calvin's Commentaries

A tiny book, smaller than my hand and thinner than my little finger...
'Converse with God in Solitude' by Richard Baxter
Another classic from Dad's library

Today's purchases which added up to a grand total of £8.50 - bargain!

An old, battered, lovely-smelling, music copy of Sankey's Sacred Songs and Solos (as mentioned the other day!)

my favourite :)
