I came across this video which is just amazing, and it made me think about something else I'd been struck by when reading 'The Good God', about how pretty often in the Bible it says things along the lines of:
"The heavens declare the glory of God" Psalm 19:1
"You have set your glory in the heavens" Psalm 8:1
"The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all peoples see his glory" Psalm 97:6
and in Romans 1:20
"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understoof from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."
But often when we see something beautiful like you see in the video here, we look at and think wow, God is glorious, He is so BIG and POWERFUL that He could create all of this with a word. Which is true.. but God's glory is his love for us... which is unpacked more in the rest of the book. But so that means, when the Bible says that the heavens declare God's glory... then they declare his love for us. So when we look at something a beautiful as this it should remind us not just that God is big and powerful, but that he loves us, and loves us enough to make this world sooooo beautiful, and to put us in it.
