The End of the CU Year

It's quite sad... in fact very sad. I'm going to miss UCLan and UCLan CU so much next year, but it's great to have the chance now, with (almost) no work left to do, to just hang out with people and have fun.

Last Thursday was the last CU meeting of the year: time for a group photo:

It was Pete, our UCCF staff worker's last meeting with us as he has finished his 5 years here and is moving elsewhere... but he left us all with a really encouraging and challenging message from the end of 1 John, chapter 5. He encouraged us to not be afraid to ask the historical questions, and to hang our lives on Jesus, because we can trust Him. :)

Following that, Friday was the usual yearly CU trip to Alton Towers, I didn't go last year as I've been a particularly big fan of rides, but I thought I'd give it a go this time, and I don't regret it. I was even persuaded to go on Oblivion, which was actually pretty awesome... as was air, rita, enterprise... and paticularly... the runaway train which all 18 of us screamed the whole way round... twice. Happy memories!

(I was actually in this photo... you can see a slither of my head behind the pirate whose hat kwesi had nicked earlier on in the day!!)

We also had the leavers masquerade ball last week which was good fun... the getting ready perhaps more so for me, than the awkward self-conciousness that followed for the rest of the evening... but it was really well organised and a good opportunity again to just spend time together, and appreciate all the hard work the leavers have put in to CU while they've been at uni.

All in all... a good few weeks, and another good couple of weeks still to come. :)
