I've finished the top and it's just big enough for a double bed, which is great because I'm going to have one for the first time in my house at uni this year. (which I'm moving into in ONE WEEK.) :)
This material right here for the border was probably my biggest extravagance but I love it so much, and have just over a metre of it left which I'd like to make into a bag, a skirt or a cushion... or any combination of those three things. If you know of any nice and eaaasy-ish patterns then please comment me a link! :)
So now I'm in the process of basting the top and the batting (nice fluffy wooly stuff to make it warm) together, ready to attach the back, and then to actually quilt it all together!
The batting I bought wasn't big enough on it's own, so I spent a few hours the other night watching glee and stitching several pieces of it together with a herringbone stitch to make a big enough piece. :)
And now I'm basting it all together with these mahoosive stitches in bright pink (so I can see them to take them out again). It's all just a bit of a faff because it's so BIG.
Anyhow, I imagine that my next blog about quilting will be my last, if and when I've got it finished!! :)
