Apart from that I looked after Tim and Emily's two older boys on Saturday morning during the GBU's AGM, went into town for an evaluation meeting with Ichtus staff about the Camp in February, and did some shopping. On Sunday I had no idea that the clocks had changed and got to church an hour late (better than an hour early though I think) and then had lunch with two girls from church which was lovely too!
On Monday I went to GBU at Woluwe, ate some easter eggs, discussed why sex before marriage is a sin and what sin is, as well as planning a possible joint "soirée spécial" on the theme of the cross, why did Jesus have to die, how are we saved...something along those lines. If it happens, it will be on 21st April. I'll let you know.
Then there was the ULB group where, although there were only a handful of us present, we had a really good study in John 6 where Jesus says that he is the bread of life, and also discussed the sovereignty of God over salvation... hmm. So a day of big discussions again. This verse was quite beautiful in french though:
Which reminded me of this song that we sing at All Saints. (not on youtube unfortuately)
"Seigneur, à qui irions-nous? Tu as les paroles de la vie éternelle. Et nous, nous croyons et nous savons que tu es le Messie, le Fils de Dieu vivant." - Jean 6:68-69my literal translation: "Lord, to who will we go? You have the words of eternal life. And we believe and we know that you are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."
Tonight there is going to be a soirée d'évangelisation at the GBU central group for which it would be great if you could pray. We're having a meal, then one of the group leaders is going to give a little talk about the history of Easter and why we celebrate it as Christians. I've made another chocolate cake for the occasion, and will soon be off to make some of my secret recipe bolognaise too. We're hoping there will be at least 10 of us who are regulars to the GBU there, plus at least 6 friends who've said that they will definitely come, and maybe some others too. :) Please pray that they'll hear and understand the Gospel!
I'm heading back to the UK tomorrow morning for just under two weeks. My plans are to go straight up to Preston to catch up with friends from uni and church up there, and spend Saturday with the YL Southport Easter Speakout team. Then heading home to Devon on Monday until the following Tuesday (13th). Please pray that it would be a good opportunity to catch up with friends, family and supporters, that I'd have a good rest and be ready and enthusiastic about coming back for the last 10 weeks or so afterwards.
