'Nativité!"

The film Nativity! is actually english... contrary to my french sounding title. However, I had a french exam today for the course of lessons I've been taking here in Brussels since October. I passed it! Woop! The main part of the exam was to write a "critique" or review of a film or book or concerty type thing you've seen lately.

My most recent film I've seen was Nativity! at Cheshire Oaks over new year. It's FAB. And I thought I would just re-translate my rather pretentious sounding review back into English for my blog. :)

"Each year, the Christmas season brings with it a handful of festive films, trying to cash in on this season of joy, peace, goodwill to all men... and a ridiculous amount of money spending. In general, I've found these kinds of films to be repetitive, boring and downright patronising, even for kids! But this year I've discovered a refreshing exception to that rule."

'Nativity!', with its all star cast of British comedic talent, is the story of Mr Maddens (Freeman) a moody state primary school teacer who must, with the help of his classroom assistant Mr Poppy (Wootton), organise the school's annual nativity play. The problem is that Mr Maddens hasn't had the best experiences in the past with organising plays, and it's his arch enemy Gordon Shakespeare (Watkins), teacher at rival private school who always receives the five star review.

However this year, all that could change as Mr Maddens' exagerrated stories of his ex-girlfriend-turned-Hollywood-producer returning to see their show and make a film about it, becomes public knowledge and soon the whole town is buzzing about not Santa, but Hollywood coming to town!

This film is a real breath of fresh air this Christmas it's not very often that a good comedy comes along that isn't full of swearing and crassness. Aimed at children and adults alike, the comedy is simple enough for children to appreciate, but also funny enough that adults will love it too!

I wouldn't hesitate in giving this film my own five star rating, but you'll have to watch it yourselves, to find out whether or not the critic Alan Carr agrees!"

Hehe... it wouldn't have flowed as well in french I don't think... it probably didn't in english but hey... my degree isn't journalism! Here's the trailer... go check it out, i'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed!
