A Taste of Being Debriefed...

To begin with.... sorry for the delay in blogging for the past week or so. Crazy crazy times with debriefing and LEAVING Belgium. That's right... I'm back in the UK for the forseeable future, chez mes parents in Devon. My brother is getting married the day after tomorrow (ohmyword) and I'm going to be 21 on Monday! It's all go! Hopefully though I will get a few blogs sorted tonight though to post over the next few days to get up to speed with all that's been going on.

In the meantime though, here is a taste of the debriefing conference I went to last week near Bishopfsheim in Germany.

(where we were staying)

(need I mention that it was beautiful?)

I think we probably all found it a particular joy to be able to sing in English together, as most of us are living in a country and where meeting together for worship takes place in a second language. Two songs from the week that were... and are, amazing and encouraged me greatly:

There Is A Day

There is a day
That all creation's waiting for,
A day of freedom and liberation for the earth.
And on that day
The Lord will come to meet His bride,
And when we see Him
In an instant we'll be changed

The trumpet sounds
And the dead will then be raised
By His power,
Never to perish again.
Once only flesh,
Now clothed with immortality,
Death has now been
Swallowed up in victory

We will meet Him in the air
And then we will be like Him
For we will see Him, as He is
Oh yeah!
Then all hurt and pain will cease
And we'lll be with Him forever
And in His glory we will live
Oh yeah! Oh yeah!
So lift your eyes
To the things as yet unseen,
That will remain now
For all eternity.
Though trouble's hard,
It's only momentary
And it's acheiving
Our future glory.

When Peace Like a River (It is Well)

(video is not top quality I'm afraid, but i do love shane and shane)

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

It is well with my soul,
it is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
let this blest assurance control,
that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
and hath shed his own blood for my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
even so, it is well with my soul.
More on debriefing coming soon... :)
