A Bonus to having to speak another language?!

Usually I just think of the whole having to speak another language here as a big inconvenience. Makes life harder, small problems become BIG problems. Non-stressful stuff becomes very stressful. I can't contribute in Bible studies. I don't understand sermons very well. I don't get jokes and just have to pretend to laugh and have understood peeeeeeerfectly. (well I don't have to do that…. But I do.) Um, and yes, generally, I just can't be myself!

BUT. Something I can do, which is actually being more myself than I feel I sometimes am in English, is talking about God. I think in English, I often feel cheesy or just a little embarrassed to really talk about Christian things and God and Jesus, just in regular conversation. I dno… I just find it really hard and awkward! But here, maybe it's because I don’t feel the cheesy connotations of the words I'm saying, and I also can't really beat around the bush and just have to say what I'm getting at… means I'm really enjoying being able to just chat with people about God. AND it's a really easy conversation starter with I Christian you meet. AND it's encouraging for both them and me.

BONUS. :)
