friendlies :)

so far having a very nice relaxing time at home in devon with the parentals :) feeling slightly guilty that I should be doing something more productive. i could do some french revision... that's on the to do list. so far though, what have i been doing?

catching up with the friendlies! (see picture...PROOF!) :) i guess i'm not so great at keeping in touch with people when i'm not around (improvement on that front is also on the to do list) but we went for a looovely meal out to catch up and exchange christmas presents at Colosseum, a leeetle cutesy italian restaurant in teignmouth which I haven't been to since our end of French a-level meal there at the end of year 13. It was a nice evening, not quite so memorable as the first, only because there was no man with an accordian saying "Anna's got a BIRTHDAY!" over and over. *sigh* happy memories!

I also caught up with another friend from school in exeter, finished off christmas shopping, saw avatar 3D on my own (katie wouldn't get in the car with me because quote/unquote - we'll die!) alas, no snow in devon, but much ice on the roads! I gave the spare ticket to a stranger which was a happy good deed for me. I wished immensley though that we hadn't reserved premier seats which meant a) i didn't have as good of a view as i could have had otherwise and b) the poor lady had to sit next to me for the whole thing and her kids sat on their own!! hehe!! but she was very friendly and we chatted during the trailers, it was nice, and not tooooo awkward. :)

Wednesday evening my home church's carol service was good, still eating the leftovers though. Is it just me, or do carols get pitched higher and higher every year?

Then there was a little thing called christmas happened on Friday. I've basically watched a lot of tv, and caught up on Merlin on iplayer (oh how i miss it in belgium!) and am also now, having finished the M'Cheyne biography, reading the autobiography of John G. Paton who was a missionary to the New Hebrides (australia/new zealand-ish direction).

Tomorrow I'm heading northwards to Derbyshire, my brother and his fiancée are coming to stay for a few days in a "chalet" near Crich, going to see my Gran in Nottingham... um and then I'm going to WANN's for New Year! :)

That's all. Sorry this isn't a very 'thematic'..or interesting, post... I'm cooking up a good one about my Dad's hymn book that's just been published, need to do it tactfully though though seeing as I think that both he and my mum read this... :P

ps. hope you like my new layout! :) i do!
